SUWANEE, Ga. – Texas Lutheran University senior guard Lauren Sansano was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of January 11th, it was announced Tuesday by D3hoops.com.
Sansano recorded the first triple-double of her career against Ozarks (AR) as just one part of a dominant showing through three conference games last week. She finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals in the Bulldogs' win over the Eagles. The 11 rebounds matched her career-high while the 10 assists and six steals are new career-highs for the senior. The triple-double is the first since Tara Molina on January 26, 2019 vs. Trinity. It is the third triple-double since the Bulldogs joined the SCAC and since the program becoming an NCAA institution (2000-01). Against Concordia (TX), Sansano moved into second all-time in program history in career assists with over 250 in her career. It is the first 20+ point triple double in program history. In total on the week, Sansano averaged 18.3 points on 58.3 percent shooting, 8.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game to lift TLU to a perfect 3-0 week.
Earlier this week, Sansano was also named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week.
The Team of the Week is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 29th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
This marks the second-straight week an SCAC student-athlete has been honored on the D3hoops.com National TOTW. Last week, Hendrix’s Riley Brady secured national accolades. Sansano’s honor is her second career National TOTW award, previously earning the selection in December of the 2023-24 season.
