INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After a week of waiting, the Concordia University (Texas) Tornados travel plans for the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship have been announced. NCAA Release | Interactive Bracket
The 64-team field will be broken out into 16, four-team regional sites. The four-team regionals will use a double-elimination format. Forty-one conference champions qualified automatically.
Concordia (29-15) will be the fourth seed in a four-team bracket in the Marshall, Texas Region, hosted by East Texas Baptist. The Tornados are scheduled to face host ETBU on Friday in game one of the opening day of the regional. The Tigers, 33-10, earned the AQ out of the American Southwest Conference (ASC) for the second consecutive season. Historically the SCAC is 16-14 (.533) all-time versus the ASC in NCAA Tournament action.
The winner of the Concordia, ETBU matchup will take on the winner of Belhaven (31-13) and Rhodes (29-15) in the winner’s bracket final on Saturday.
The Tornados will enter the tournament having won seven of their last eight contests, including six-straight having swept through the SCAC Baseball Championship bracket with wins over McMurry and LeTourneau.
This will mark the third-straight and ninth overall NCAA Tournament appearance for the Tornados.
Winners of the sixteen regional tournaments will qualify for eight, best-of-three series at the super regionals, Friday-Saturday, May 22-23. The eight super regional winners will then qualify for the pool play double-elimination championship at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio, Friday-Thursday, May 29-June 4, 2026.
