KERRVILLE, Texas -- Behind an SCAC Tournament record 27 kills from sophomore Camille Sherrill, Colorado College secured a 3-0 victory over top-seeded University of St. Thomas in the 2025 SCAC Volleyball Tournament Semifinals Friday afternoon at the Stephens Family Arena on the campus of Schreiner University. Sherrill, who blistered the previous high of 19 kills in a three-set tournament match, tied the record for most kills in a single tournament match with 27. She ties former CC Tiger Abbe Holtze who previously set the mark in a five-set match versus former member Southwestern in 2016.
Colorado College, which last won the SCAC Tournament in 2020-21 (COVID-19 Spring Tournament), will be in search of its seventh conference tournament title in program history.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite its single lowest hitting percentage of any set in the win, Colorado College jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the strength of seven Camille Sherrill kills and a 25-22 score.
- In the second set, CC held St. Thomas to just nine kills and a match low .147 hitting percentage to secure a 25-18 win and take a 2-0 advantage into the third. The Tigers were 13-of-18 on sideout opportunities in the second set.
- Colorado College advanced into third SCAC Tournament final in the last four years following a 25-21 third set win to finish off the sweep.
- For the match Colorado College finished with 54 kills, tied for the most in a three-set match in SCAC Tournament history (Trinity, 2016), while St. Thomas was credited with 30.
