Hendrix's Naumann, LeTourneau's Torres Earn Top SCAC Men's Golf Honors

SUWANEE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its 2026 Men's Golf Postseason Awards on Monday, recognizing the league's top performers following a vote of the conference's head coaches and sports information directors. 2026 All-SCAC Men's Golf Team

Oliver Naumann of Hendrix College was named SCAC Golfer of the Year, while LeTourneau University’s Rafa Torres earned First-Year Player of the Year accolades. In that same balloting, YellowJackets’ head coach, Paul Leslie was named SCAC Coach of the Year.

Naumann, a senior from Dallas, Texas, put together an outstanding season, highlighted by a one-shot victory and medalist honors at the SCAC Championships in April. He held at least a share of the lead throughout the tournament and became the first Warrior golfer (man or woman) to earn medalist honors at the conference championships. Named SCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week back in March, Naumann finished the year ranked 118th in the country and 29th in the region in the latest Clippd rankings.

Over the course of the 2025-26 season, Naumann captured three individual medalist honors and posted eight top-10 finishes in 11 total events. The 2026 SCAC Men’s Golf Elite 19 honoree, Naumann finished his senior year with an impressive 479-64-9 record against all opponents across the season, a 73.2 adjusted scoring average and played his best golf at the end, winning three of his final five tournament and posting a top-five finish in four of those events.

Naumann is the first Hendrix men’s golfer to earn SCAC Golfer of the Year honors.

Torres, a first-year from Madrid, Spain, burst onto the scene and produced an outstanding rookie campaign. A First Team All-SCAC honoree following his tied for runner-up finish at the conference championships in April, Torres finished his first season with an impressive 488-276-22 record against all opponents. Ranked 115th nationally and 26th regionally in the latest Clippd rankings, Torres closed the year with a trio of top-10 finishes, and a pair of top-three finishes, highlighted by medalist honors at the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate in September. Named SCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week to open the 2025-26 season, Torres finished the year with a 72.9 adjusted scoring average.

Torres is the first athlete in LeTourneau’s program history to earned SCAC First-Year Golfer of the Year honors.

Leslie earned Coach of the Year honors after leading LeTourneau to the 2026 SCAC Men’s Golf Championship and a berth into the NCAA Division III Golf Championships field. It marked the program’s first SCAC title and fourth-straight trip to the NCAA Championship. At the national championship tournament, which was contested at El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, the YellowJackets made the cut for the first time in four trips. LeTourneau shot a program-best 1-over, 289 in the final round to cap the 72-hole tournament, finishing 23-over at 1,171 (292-298-292-289), good enough for a program-best 12-place finish.

In his eighth season at the helm of the YellowJackets, the SCAC COTY honor is the first for Leslie and second overall, winning COTY honors in the ASC in 2023.
