INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced the participants for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships and both Colorado College cross country programs will represent the SCAC in an announcement made on Sunday. Both Colorado College programs earned one of the 22 at-large selections after finishing as the runners-up as a team at the NCAA West Regional while individually, the Tigers had the top runner on both sides. Will Shuflit, the league's two-time Runner of the Year, won the men's race while Alison Mueller-Hickler, the 2025 SCAC Runner of the Year in women's cross country, won the women's event.
In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals had to qualify in their respective NCAA regional competitions held this weekend.
Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top seven-person team automatically qualified from each of the 10 regions. Twenty-two additional teams were selected at-large.
Seventy individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.
The Tigers' women's team, ranked No. 19 in the country, will compete at the national meet for the fifth consecutive year. The Tigers posted their best finish in program history last season, placing sixth at the NCAA Championship last season.
Four women's athletes earned all-region honors, led by Mueller-Hickler who was joined by Charlie Flint, Abby Goodfried and Brooktie Frogge.
On the men's side, the No. 22 ranked Tigers will make their second NCAA Championship appearance as a team after their first came in 2011. Shuflit was the second regional champion in the last three years for the Tigers (James Settles, 2023).
Five Tigers on the men's team earned all-region honors led by Shuflit, along with Vincent Mangat, Rabbit Barnes, Axel Klomparens and Diego Escalante.
Converse University and OneSpartanburg, Inc. are hosting the championships Nov. 22 at Roger Milliken Cross Country course at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The men’s race will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern, followed by the women’s race at 11 a.m. Eastern.
