ANNIE JOO OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior setter from San Jose, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, October 7th through Sunday, October 12th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 7)
Joo had a standout week with 133 assists over three matches including a career-high 59 against Schreiner in a five-set thriller. She averaged 11.08 assists per set with 33 digs as well. She posted 59 assists against Schreiner, 40 against McMurry and totaled 34 in a three-set win over Wooster. This marks Joo's third Setter of the Week honor this season.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
First-year setter Lillian Mycke of Centenary recorded 27 assists, 12 digs, and a pair of kills in two conference matches over the weekend at Austin College and Dallas. Senior setter Adilynn Henry of Hendrix dished out 41 assists in the Warriors' two weekend matches averaging 6.83 assists per set. She contributed 22 assists in a sweep of Ozarks (Ark.) and added 19 assists against #2 East Texas Baptist. First-year setter Emily Mullin of LeTourneau tallied 31 assists over a pair of wins for the YellowJackets adding 11 kills and 33 digs as well. Senior setter/right side hitter Carli Colbert of McMurry totaled 23 assists over a pair of matches for the War Hawks while adding 15 digs. First-year outside hitter Emerson Corbin of Ozarks (Ark.) added 13 assists against Hendrix paired with four digs. Senior setter Mia Medina of St. Thomas (Tex.) posted 37 assists in a pair of wins, including 24 in a five-set match to win against Schreiner to hand the Mountaineers their first SCAC loss. Medina also added 13 digs and a pair of service aces. First year setter Addison Gallegos of Texas Lutheran posted back-to-back double-doubles this week to lead TLU to a 1-1 week with 50 total assists, averaging 5.56 per set. Her 27 assists against Concordia and 14 digs against Southwestern mark new career-highs.
