NICK ANDERSON AND DYLAN FERRARO OF COLORADO COLLEGE, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 7
Anderson, a senior from Minneapolis, Minn., and Ferraro, a first-year from League City Texas, went a perfect 3-0 at the No. 3 doubles spot last weekend as the Tigers won all three team matches. They opened the weekend with a 7-5 victory over Archie Martyn-Smith and Ryan Rosalin of Ozarks, then helped clinch the doubles point in a 4-3 team win over Division II Colorado Mesa with a 6-3 win over Luke Burriesci and Jamison Pfingston. The duo closed the weekend with a 6-4 triumph over Max Henderson and Robinson Wright of Hendrix as the Tigers improved to 6-0 in the SCAC this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Joel Colunga and first-year Jace Warner of Austin College earned the 'Roos's lone doubles win at McMurry on Saturday, with the duo coming away with a tough 7-5 victory playing on line three for the 'Roos. Senior Daniel Beckles and first-year Rowan Daniell of Concordia (Tex.) posted a perfect 2-0 record at No. 1 doubles, helping the Tornados secure two conference victories. The pair earned a 6-4 win over Wilson Salazar and Sawyer White of St. Thomas (Tex.) before following with a 7-5 victory against Andrew Reiman & Fernando Vazquez of LeTourneau. Seniors Rowan McCollum and Cason Cole of Hendrix were the only doubles pairing to win for the Warriors in their weekend match versus Colorado College, claiming the No. 2 spot 7-6 (7-4) in tiebreak fashion. Junior Timothy Black and senior Zach Farris of LeTourneau went 2-0 at the No. 2 flight in doubles to help LeTourneau to a 1-1 week. The duo knocked off Texas Lutheran's Cash Herrera and Jackson Leslie, 6-4, in LeTourneau's victory. They also defeated Concordia's Aaron Griffin and Kade Talbot, 6-3. The tandem moved to 9-2 on the year and 5-1 in SCAC matches. Sophomore Raja Pandya and first-year Luis Ledezma of St. Thomas (Tex.) went 1-1 over the week highlighted by a strong 6-3 doubles victory over TLU, clinching the doubles point and helping secure a 4-3 team win for the Celts. The duo dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 3 against Concordia (Tex.).
