ANNIE JOO OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior setter from San Jose, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played from Thursday, September 11th through Saturday, September 13th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 3)
Joo led the Tigers with 57 assists, including a career-high 32 in a five-set win over #13 UW-Platteville, as the Tigers went 2-1 at the Carthage Invite. She also added 20 assists in a three-set sweep over Concordia (Wis.) and averaged 5.18 assists per set over the weekend.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
First-year setter Lillian Mycke of Centenary tallied 42 assists over four matches while adding 14 digs and three aces for the Ladies. First-year setter Emily Mullin of LeTourneau posted 53 assists over four matches to average 4.08 assists per set (in a two-setter system) with 25 digs as well. She had a double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs in a loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor. She also had six service aces in a sweep of Alverno. Senior setter Carli Colbert of McMurry recorded 44 assists over four matches for the War Hawks including a weekend high of 13 in a 3-0 sweep of Lyon. She also added 27 digs and seven service aces. Sophomore setter Jillian Childs of University of the Ozarks (Ark.) totaled 15 assists against Williams Baptist while adding three digs. Senior setter Mia Medina of University of St. Thomas (Tex.) tallied 60 assists over three matches including 32 against Southwestern (Tex.) in a 5-set loss. She averaged 5.00 assists per set and contributed 21 digs. First-year setter Addison Gallegos of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with 43 assists over three matches last week, averaging 4.78 assists per set and added 13 digs. She posted her best total of the week against #21 Berry with 23 assists.
