ANNIE JOO OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior setter from San Jose, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 23rd through Sunday, September 28th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 5)
Joo led all players with 20 assists in the Tigers' sweep of St. Thomas (Tex.), averaging 6.67 assists per set. Joo also added six digs and a pair of kills to keep Colorado College undefeated in league play.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore setter Jadyn Harris of Centenary totaled 35 assists over the weekend including a season-high 19 on her way to helping the Ladies earn a victory over Ozarks (Ark.). She also added a season-high 14 digs, season-best eight kills, and had seven aces which are tied for the third-most in a match in program history in the division III era (2011-present). Senior setter Adilynn Henry of Hendrix compiled 51 assists in a pair of matches for the Warriors including 32 in a five-set win over LeTourneau. She averaged 6.38 assists per set while adding 17 digs and two service aces. First-year setter/outside hitter Emily Mullin of LeTourneau posted a strong weekend with 52 assists, 21 digs and 17 kills in a 2-1 weekend for the YellowJackets. She averaged 4.73 assists, 1.91 digs per set and 1.55 kills. Senior setter/right side hitter Carli Colbert of McMurry posted 35 assists in league play over the weekend including 22 in a five-set win over Concordia (Tex.) She also added 17 kills and 18 digs. First-year setter Alyssa Carlisle of Ozarks (Ark.) totaled 33 assists for a 4.71 assists per set average over two matches. Carlisle had a balanced effort with 16 assists against LeTourneau and 17 against Centenary. Junior setter Harlie Gallaspy of Schreiner averaged 5.25 assists per set for the Mountaineers with 42 total over a 2-0 week in SCAC play. Gallaspy added 23 assists and two blocks against TLU and 19 assists with eight digs in a sweep of Concordia (Tex.). First-year setter Addison Gallegos of Texas Lutheran added 39 assists in a pair of matches for the Bulldogs with her second double-double of her career coming against McMurry. She averaged 4.88 assists per set with 16 assists and 11 digs in a sweep of McMurry.
