HARLIE GALLASPY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior setter from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 30th through Sunday, October 5th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 6)
Gallaspy led the Mountaineers to a 4-0 week including going 3-0 in league play with 56 total assists over the week and an average of 5.60 per set. Gallaspy posted a high of 21 in a sweep of LeTourneau and added 18 against Southwestern (Tex.) as the Mountaineers did not drop a set last week. The non-conference win over Southwestern (Tex.) marked just the fifth win for the Mountaineers over the Pirates in their previous 32 matches, dating back to the 2000 season.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore setter Jadyn Harris of Centenary totaled 19 assists and 10 digs over three conference matches. She also added seven kills, an ace, and one solo block. Senior setter Adilynn Henry of Hendrix posted 67 assists over the Warriors' 2-1 weekend in Houston, averaging 6.09 assists per set. Her highest mark of the weekend came in a 3-1 win over Colorado College totaling 26 assists, her second-highest assist count in a four-set match this season. First-year setter Emily Mullin of LeTourneau recorded 36 assists with a weekend-high of 17 in a win over Concordia (Tex.). She posted a double-double in that match with 16 digs as she added 29 digs across three matches. Senior setter/right side hitter Carli Colbert of McMurry tallied 60 assists over the week with 39 coming in conference play. She posted 16 assists in a sweep of Dallas and totaled 19 digs in league play as well. First-year setter Alyssa Carlisle of Ozarks (Ark.) led the Eagles with 33 assists over three matches with a weekend high of 17 against Concordia (Tex.). She also added 17 digs over three matches. Senior setter Mia Medina of St. Thomas (Tex.) recorded 59 assists, averaging 5.36 assists per set, as she helped the Celts to a 3-0 weekend in league play. Medina posted a weekend high of 22 in a four-set win over Hendrix and also added 19 digs over three matches. First-year setter Addison Gallegos of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 weekend at home with 53 assists including 22 assists against Centenary and a double-double against LeTourneau as TLU swept through their competition. She averaged 5.89 assists per set while adding 19 digs over the weekend.
