TEDDY OPLER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore midfielder from Wilson, Wyo., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 27th through Sunday, November 2nd. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 10)
Opler closed out the regular season in style, recording his first career hat trick in the Tigers win over Dallas on the road last Saturday. Needing a win to secure a third-straight regular season title and the No. 1 seed going into the SCAC Tournament, Opler found the back of the net three times to close out the regular season second in the league with 13 goals and first in the conference with 31 points. Opler’s efforts have helped Colorado College secure its fourth consecutive unbeaten record in league play with the Tigers last loss in SCAC play coming in 2021.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year defender Elias Arreguin of LeTourneau was outstanding in leading the YellowJackets to a critical 2-1 road win over Austin College to secure the final spot in the SCAC Tournament. Needing a win to get into the postseason, Arreguin assisted on the opening goal for the YellowJackets and then scored the game-winner to secure three huge points and keep the season alive for LeTourneau. Junior forward Angel Lugo of McMurry cashed in the game-winning goal to defeat Schreiner on the road, 1-0, to close out the regular season for the War Hawks.
