EDMUND DAVIS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior swimmer from Bellevue, Wash., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, October 17 & Saturday, October 18. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 2)
Davis opened the 25-26 season against Grinnell and Augustana with two first place finishes in the 1,000- (10:07.95) and the 200-yard Free (1:45.48) also placed second in the 500 Free (4:48.77) and splitting 47.49 in the 400 Free Relay and 21.75 in the 200 Free relay. He was the teams highest point scorer helping the Tigers to a win over Augustana.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Hunter Hedges of Centenary had an impressive start to his season over the weekend in a pair of conference dual meets against McMurry on the road as he recorded a trio of individual wins and finished as runner-up twice. Hedges claimed wins in the 50 fly (24.35), 200 IM (2:04.39), and 100 breast (1:03.10) and finished as runner-up in both the 50 breast (29.10) and 100 IM (57.21). Sophomore Wes Scalf of McMurry won three individual events over the competition with Centenary College and was on four winning relay teams. Salf won the 50 and 200 Breaststrokes and the 100 Freestyle. He was overall the leading scorer for the War Hawks over the two days as they defeated the Centenary men's program. First-year Tanner McKay of University of St. Thomas (Tex.) delivered an outstanding performance at the Southwestern Invite, showcasing his endurance and speed across multiple events. He led off the 400 Free Relay with a blazing 48.5 split, then came back just 10 minutes later to post a 49.28 in the 100 Free. McKay capped off his stellar weekend by anchoring the 200 A Medley Relay with a 21.60 freestyle leg, the fastest of any team in the field.
