WILL SHUFLIT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Park City, Utah, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets conducted from Friday, October 3 through Saturday, October 4. It is the second consecutive week he has earned the honor. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 6)
Shuflit outpaced 422 Division III runners with a school-record time to win the ‘White’ 8K race and lead the Colorado College men’s cross country team to an 11th-place finish at the 51st annual Paul Short Run Friday morning in Bethlehem, Pa. Shuflit completed the 8K course in a school-record time of 24:04.9 seconds, more than 13 seconds faster than runner-up Nathan Tassey of Roger Williams and 11 seconds clear of his own previous school record.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Jayden Curry of Dallas lifted the Crusaders to a third-place team finish at the OLLU Classic after posting a top-15 individual finish. Curry placed 13th after crossing the line of the 8K course in 28:41.6. Senior David Dugan of LeTourneau led the way for the YellowJackets last weekend at the Belhaven Invitational. Dungan finished eighth out of 70 competitors, his first top-10 finish this year, crossing the line of the 8K course in 26:54.0. His performance helped LeTourneau capture the team title as well.
