JULIA COX OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets Sunday, November 23.  SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 7)

Cox had a record breaking weekend with best times in all three of her primary events and contributed to top finishes in all five relays. She placed secnd in the 50 free with a new lifetime best time of 23.99. She placed third in the 200 Free with a lifetime best of 1:53.63 (two seconds faster than last year at SCAC), and placed second in the 100 Free with a new school record of 51.78. All five relays she swam on placed second overall in the meet. Her top relay split was 23.42 in the 200 medley relay and she scored a total of 98 points.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Addie Huebert of Asbury competed in her first meet of the season posting three personal best times in the 50 free (25.89), the 100 breast (1:09.42; 3rd fastest in the conference), and the 200 breast (2:37.36; 3rd fastest in the conference). Junior Reece Esser of Centenary continued her impressive season with three individual wins over the weekend in the Hendrix College Mid-Season Invitational. Esser won the 50 free (25.11), 100 free (55.47), and 100 fly (59.98) and also finished as runner- up in the 200 back (2:23.18) and now has 11 wins this season. Senior Cece Werth of Hendrix delivered one of the biggest swims of the entire weekend with a 1:00.80 in the 100 Butterfly, dropping a massive 3.22 seconds from her previous best. Her breakout swim now puts her just 1.41 seconds away from the Hendrix school record, officially placing her among the fastest flyers in program history. Werth recorded eight top-two finishes, including four first-place finishes, winning the women's 50-yard free, 100-yard butterfly, 500-yard free, 200-yard butterfly, and led off the 800-yard relay team that finished first in the event. First-year Brooklynn Lizcano of McMurry posted several top-15 finishes at the Trinity Invitational including finishing 10th with a time of 1:15.48 in the B-Final of the 100 breast. Senior Jessie Wright of Ozarks (Ark.) won the 400 IM 5:00.79, 100 backstroke 1:03.27, 200 backstroke 2:13.71 and 200 I.M. 2:16.63 at the Hendrix College Mid-Season Invitational. Her times in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 I.M. are new school records. She split 1:02.00 100 yard fly to help the Eagles win the 400 Medley relay in a new school record time of 4:19.96. Jessie also led off the the 200 free relay in 26.35 and had a 200 medley relay free split of 25.69 for first place finishes. Junior Ava Verret of St. Thomas (Tex.) put together an exceptional meet, highlighted by a school-record swim in the 500 free. She dropped four seconds for a new lifetime best of 5:43.85 while earning top-16 finishes in the 400 IM and 200 breast, placing ninth in both.
