QUADATRA WILBURN OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TEX.), a sophomore from Cypress, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 16 through Sunday, March 22. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 4

Wilburn put together a fantastic meet last weekend at the TLU Invite, posting a pair of top three finishes, highlighted by a gold medal performance in the 100-meter dash. She crossed the line in the 100, stopping the clock at 11.88 to secure the win and post the top time in the SCAC to date and the third fastest time in all of NCAA Div. III this season. Wilburn followed that performance up with a school record in the 200-meters, finishing third with a time of 24.60.
 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Grayson Shugart of Centenary led the Ladies last weekend at the Belhaven Invitational, turning in a 15th-place finish in the 400-meters, crossing the line in 1:03.47. This time marked a PR this season for Shugart and is currently the 15th fastest time in the SCAC this season. Senior Abby Goodfried of Colorado College, competing against competition across all divisions, secured 21st in the 1,500 at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invite last Saturday. Goodfried crossed the line with a season best time of 4:50.72, the best time in the SCAC to date this year. First-year Malaya Thomas of Concordia (Tex.) posted a pair of top-10 performances in the sprint events last weekend to lead the Tornados at the TLU Invite. Thomas secured sixth in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 12.42 and then earned eighth in the 200-meters with a time of 26.04. Both times are ranked in the top five among all SCAC runners this year. First-year Selah Prickett of LeTourneau turned in a top-5 mark in program history last weekend at the TCU Alumni Invite in the 100-meter dash. Prickett, competing against competition across all divisions, finished 39th, cross the line in 13.11, the 14th fast time to date in the conference. Sophomore Ciarah Garcia of Texas Lutheran was outstanding at the Bulldogs home meet last weekend, winning the 400-meters, breaking the tape with a time of 58.40. Her time is currently the fastest in the SCAC this season and ranks 16th nationally among all Div. III runners.
