Ten SCAC Standouts Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Headlined by a trio of First Team honorees, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) had 10 student-athletes named to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region X (West) team it was announced last Friday.

Texas Lutheran led all SCAC programs with five selections, followed by Trinity with three and Concordia (Texas) and St. Thomas with one honoree each. This year marks the 10th consecutive full season the SCAC has placed six or more student-athletes on the NFCA All-Region squad.

Representing the SCAC on the First Team was Texas Lutheran’s Amanda White and Annie Kay and Concordia’s Kylie Kirk.

White, a senior pitcher from Lockhart, Texas, was named SCAC Pitcher of the Year earlier this month. White paced the Bulldogs pitching staff with a 21-1 record and 99 strikeouts in 145.2 innings, while heading into the NCAA Tournament with a 0.77 ERA that ranked fourth in the NCAA after going through the 2025 regular season undefeated.

Kay, a junior outfielder from Sinton, Texas was named the Co-SCAC Player of the Year earlier this month and elevated to the First Team after securing Second Team NFCA All-Region honors last season. Kay has been outstanding at the plate all season for the Bulldogs, leading the SCAC in hits (67) and batting average (.489) and is currently second in the league in on-base percentage (.532) and stolen bases (61). She is also fifth in the SCAC with 38 RBI.

Kirk, a sophomore utility player from Liberty Hill, Texas put together one of the most dynamic seasons of recent memory in the SCAC sitting at the top of several of both hitting and pitching statistical categories. At the plate, Kirk currently sits in the top five in the SCAC in batting average (.436 – 5th), home runs (7 – 2nd), triples (3 – T4th), RBI (42 – 3rd), doubles (14 – 3rd) and slugging percentage (.809 – 2nd). In the circle, Kirk has been equally impressive, currently ranked tied for third in complete games (12), fifth in wins (11), fifth in strikeouts (82), seventh in ERA (2.69), eighth in innings pitched (88.1) and tied for eighth WHIP (1.35). 

In addition, three SCAC players were named Second Team All-Region, St. Thomas’ junior utility player Chloe Bennett and Trinity’s junior first baseman Carsyn Lee and first-year third baseman Mariana Garcia. All three athletes earned Second Team All-SCAC honors earlier this month.

Rounding out the SCAC All-region honorees were TLU teammates Faith Hernandez, Caelee Clark and Serena Gonzalez, along with Trinity’s Ella Whitacre were named to the Third Team. Hernandez, a senior first baseman, Clark, a junior second baseman and Gonzalez, a junior designated hitter all earned First Team All-SCAC honors this year and helped TLU secure the program’s 11th SCAC Regular season title this year and look to continue the season going into the Super Regionals this weekend after winning the Ithaca, NY regional last weekend. Whitacre, a sophomore outfielder was named Second Team All-SCAC and helped the Tigers to a program record 32 wins this season.  

The awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.

If they were not already voted to an All-Region squad, conference Players and Pitchers of the Year from member institutions are added to the third team in their region, so long as they are nominated by their member head coach and receive votes.

All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 28 online and on-site at the NCAA Division III Finals banquet in Bloomington, Ill.
