CAMERON FRAZIER OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a sophomore from McKinney, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, March 2 through Tuesday, March 3. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 2)
Fraizer was the top SCAC finisher at the Schreiner Spring Shootout, finishing seventh, leading the Celts to a third-place team finish. She fired a 36-hole score of 159 (+15) with rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8). Fraizer was the lone SCAC athlete in the field to finish in the top eight in Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5 scoring and her 18 total pars on the week finished tied for fifth most among the 37 competitors.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Abby Yanta of Schreiner finished 16th overall to pace the Mountaineers at their home shootout this week. Yanta opened the tournament with a 90 (+18), before firing a second round 84 (+12) to vault up three spots and finish with a two-round total of 174 (+30). Yanta secured 11 pars over two rounds and helped Schreiner earn a fifth-place team finish. Sophomore Ashleigh Bickerstaff of Dallas fired a second round 83 (+11), 10-stroke improvement from her opening round and vaulting her eight spots in the standings to finish tied for 17th to lead the Crusaders at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. She finished the tournament with a two-round total of 176 (+32) on the strength of one birdie and 12 pars. Sophomore Reese Trujillo of Concordia (Tex.) fired a two-round total of 177 (+33) to finish 19th at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. Trujillo posted rounds of 87 and 90 with 12 total pars.
