JUSTIN OGLE OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TEX.), a junior from Pearland, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week of the Week for games played from Tuesday, March 3 through Sunday, March 8. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 5
Ogle hit .556 (10-for-18) over a 3-1 week including a series sweep of Dallas with a 3-for-5 contest with 5 RBI. Ogle totaled eight RBI over the series with no strikeouts in league play and posted at least one hit in every contest.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Jaxyn Rogers of Austin College helped the 'Roos notch a win at No. 25 Texas Lutheran in the team's three-game series, batting .364 with a .462 on-base percentage and a .727 slugging percentage. In the team's 8-7 win over the Bulldogs, Rogers went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, and three RBI. Senior Landon Hyle of Concordia (Tex.) went 7-for-15 (.467) at the plate with a .500 on-base percentage & .600 slugging percentage in four games last week. The senior tallied a team-best eight RBIs with four RBIs in a 17-7 win over Southwestern and three RBIs in a 10-0 win over LeTourneau. Senior Austin Rabago of Hendrix went 6-for-14 (.429) at the plate in the Warriors' series win over Centenary. The senior tallied seven RBIs and scored six runs across the three games while smoking his first and second home runs of the year, posting a .857 slugging percentage. Senior Zach Baker of LeTourneau batted .467 (7-for-15) with three runs, four RBIs, two walks, and three steals in a 2-2 week for LeTourneau. In a series win over Concordia (Tex.), Baker was 5-for-11 with three RBIs, two steals, and two runs scored. He posted a 3-for-3 game with two RBIs, two steals, and a run scored in a 10-0 game-two victory. He posted a hit in all but one contest over the four this week. Sophomore Collin Bruning of McMurry went 6-for-12 (.500) against Ozarks (Ark.) with six RBI and five runs scored. Bruning had a pair of hits in each game and a three-run home run in game two. Junior Langdon Townsend of Ozarks (Ark.) hit .381, homered twice and drove in 11 RBI over five games. He had a pair of doubles and totaled three RBI in two games against Lyon College. Against McMurry, he totaled six hits, homered twice and had eight RBI. For the week, he also had two steals and finished with a .810 slugging percentage. Sophomore Kale Lackey of Schreiner hit .571 (8-for-14) over the weekend against Howard Payne with six RBI including five in game three going 4-for-5. Lackey posted a .786 slugging percentage and posted at least one hit in each game. Senior Chase Bourgeois of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs' offense going 6-for-14 (.429) across four games with six RBI. The senior posted a hit in every contest this week including a double and a triple against No. 1 Trinity in a 10-8 win for TLU.
