TORI COLMAN OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7
Colman had a big day at the War Hawk Classic with a solid performance in the shot put and placing 5th. In that event she currently ranks 2nd in the SCAC, 6th in the region, and 47th in DIII. However, in the discus she earned a triple PR with her final throw being 45.19m! That was good enough to win the event and she is now ranked first in the SCAC, 2nd in the region, and 10th in DIII.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Keely Lueckeman of Colorado College placed fifth in the javelin at the War Hawk Classic with a personal-best toss of 113' 4", the third-best distance in the SCAC this spring. First-year Ciena Robinson of Concordia (Tex.) led the Tornados in the field events at the War Hawk Classic with a personal-best throw of 32.85 meters in the discus. Her mark was the top performance for the Tornados. Robinson also competed in the shot put, recording a mark of 8.65 meters.
