JAX RODRIGUEZ OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore kicker from Lago Vista, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Saturday, October 11th. SCAC Football Release (Week 6)
Rodriguez was a perfect 9-for-9 on extra points in the War Hawks' 65-7 win over Lyon Saturday. The sophomore also punted four times for an average of 33.5 yards with one downed inside the 20.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior running back Obadiah Butler of Centenary returned six kicks for 113 yards (18.8/return) with a long return of 52 yards in a loss to Texas Lutheran Saturday. He also rushed 15 times for a game-high 159 yards including a 95-yard touchdown run. First-year kicker Emily Vaiasicca of Hendrix recorded her first career point on Saturday in the Warriors' 60-21 win over Austin College to become the first female to score a point in Hendrix football history. Vaiasicca also becomes the first female to score a point in SCAC football history.
