HELANA CHADWICK OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from La Vernia, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 10 through Sunday, November 16. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 2)

Chadwick was phenomenal to open the 2025-26 campaign, leading the War Hawks to a 74-52 road victory over Howard Payne. She poured in 21 points on 47.4 percent shooting and nearly secured a triple double with nine assists and eight rebounds. Chadwick added five steals in 34 minutes of action.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Avory Miller of Austin College had a career game to help first-year head coach Olivia Hunt notch the first victory of her career, as the ‘Roos downed Lyon 82-62. Miller scored a career-best 20 points and led Austin College in every statistical category in the game, grabbing eight rebounds, handing out four assists, and coming away with five steals while hitting 5-of-11 shot attempts and 10-of-16 from the free throw line. First-year guard Nakaylyn Wells of Centenary had a pair of double-digit scoring performances and averaged 9.7 PPG in the Ladies' three games last week. She added 15 assists, 15 rebounds, and four steals. Junior guard JuJu Garcia of Colorado College led the Tigers with 10.5 points per game in a 1-1 weekend to start the 2025-26 season. She scored a career-high 15 points in an upset win over No. 18 Calvin. First-year guard La’Aria Miller of Dallas averaged 14.5 points on 41.2 percent shooting to help the Crusaders post a 1-1 record last week. She also added 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assist per game. Junior guard Mariana Espinosa of LeTourneau averaged 16.5 points -- shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point land -- with 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in a 1-1 week. She scored 15 points and collected a double-double with 10 rebounds in a win over College of Biblical Studies. Junior guard Abby Beene of Ozarks scored 14 points on 50 percent shooting and added six rebounds and two assists in a tough loss to Southwestern. Senior Laura Jones of St. Thomas delivered a strong offensive showing for the Celts as UST went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over Whitman and Whitworth. She averaged 12.0 points across two games, knocking down 50 percent of her shots and adding a pair of threes while totaling 24 points in just 42 minutes. Junior guard Davi’Yanna Jones of Texas Lutheran poured in a career-high 22 points and secured her second career double-double with 11 rebounds against Cal Lutheran last Sunday.
