MADISON WRIGHT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March 29. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 5
Wright had a really strong showing at the Charles Austin Invite held by Texas State University. She finished tenth overall and second amongst Division-III throwers in the discus throw with a mark of 36.72m (120' 6") and added a seventh place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 32.23m (105' 9").
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Gabrielle Malagarie of Centenary highlighted the Ladies' efforts in the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational on Saturday in Natchitoches, La. with a fourth-place finish in the high jump (4-11.75). She also finished 14th in the long jump (15-10.25). Junior Anaya Owens of Concordia (Tex.) led the Tornados in the field events at the PVU Relays with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 2.15m. Her performance marked the top field placement on the women’s side for CTX.
