TIMOTHY BLACK AND ZACH FARRIS OF LETOURNEAU UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 23 through Sunday, March 1. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 3
Black, a junior from Lindale, Texas, and Farris, a senior from Lucas, Texas, went 2-0 in doubles play in a pair of SCAC victories over the weekend. The tandem played at the top flight and defeated Austin's Cameron McIver and Timothy Wallace 6-4 on Friday. The duo then took down Dallas' Aidan Nguyen and Gordon Huckestein at the No. 2 flight, 6-0, on Saturday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-years Cameron McIver and Timothy Wallace of Austin College were outstanding in getting a line one win over visiting Howard Payne on Sunday, earning a hard-fought 7-6 victory with a 7-4 tiebreak set to help the 'Roos clinch the overall doubles point. Sophomores Lenny Lehmitz and Sam Dilworth of Colorado College won at No. 2 doubles against Division II Colorado Mesa, 7-5, over Emil Hultman and Diogo Manzano. Seniors Cash Herrera and Eric Moninger of Texas Lutheran posted a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles against Howard Payne as the Bulldogs earned the 7-0 sweep for their first win of the spring.
