CAMILLE SHERRILL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior outside hitter from Missoula, Mont. has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Thursday, September 11th through Saturday, September 13th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 3)
Sherrill led the Tigers with 52 kills, including a career-high 29 in a five-set win over #13 UW-Platteville, as CC went 2-1 at the Carthage Invite. Her 29 kills ties for No. 8 on CC's career list for most in a single match and is the most in a match by a Tigers since Abbe Holtze had 29 vs. Colorado Christian on Nov. 4, 2014. Her 29 kills in a five-set match is tied for fifth all-time in a single match by a SCAC player. Sherrill hit .318 vs. the Pioneers and added 30 digs, eight blocks and a pair of service aces during the weekend.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Rachel Sadler of Austin College earned All-Tournament honors at the 1st Responders Classic at UST posting 37 kills over three matches and averaging 3.08 kills per set and added 34 digs. She had a weekend-high of 13 kills against Minn.-Morris and Howard Payne, reaching double-digit kills in all three matches. First-year outside hitter/defensive specialist Zoe Garcia of Centenary tallied 24 kills, 10 digs, four assists, and one ace over four matches for the Ladies at the Millsaps College Volleyball Invitational. Senior outside hitter Aubree McCann of LeTourneau had a pair of double-digit kill efforts on the week with 22 total as she averaged 3.67 kills per set with a .262 hitting percentage and 4.33 digs. McCann had a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs with one block in a loss to Hardin-Simmons and then had 12 kills with 11 digs in a loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor. Junior middle hitter Rylie Patterson of McMurry compiled 25 kills over four matches for the War Hawks in a 3-1 week. She posted 10 kills in a win over Lyon and added nine blocks over the weekend. First-year outside hitter Brooke Humphrey of University of the Ozarks (Ark.) recorded a double-double in the Eagles' lone match of the week with 11 kills and 15 digs in a loss to Williams Baptist. Junior outside hitter Alexis Bodunrin of University of St. Thomas (Tex.) posted 44 kills over three matches with 23 in a five-set match against Southwestern (Tex.). She averaged 4.00 kills per set and added 38 digs along with six total blocks. Senior outside hitter Maselina Tuufuli of Texas Lutheran was named to the Mount Berry All-Tournament team after leading the Bulldogs with 28 kills over three matches including 11 in a win over LaGrange.
