Junior goalkeeper Avery Anders of McMurry allowed just one goal in net while playing nearly 160 minutes over two matches as the War Hawks opened SCAC play with a 1-0-1 record. Anders finished the weekend with eight saves, including seven in a 0-0 shutout draw against St. Thomas at home on Sunday. Junior goalkeeper Kylie Soich of St. Thomas lifted the Celts to a 1-0-1 record on the road to open SCAC play last weekend, highlighted by a 2-1 win over Schreiner and a 0-0 shutout draw against McMurry. She finished with five total saves, including two in the scoreless draw against the War Hawks. Junior midfielder Caitlin Roach of Texas Lutheran helped the Bulldogs start conference play with a perfect 2-0 record, allowing just one goal in the opening two SCAC matches with road wins at Austin College and a shutout victory against LeTourneau. Roach and the Bulldogs defense allowed just seven total shots on target over the opening two conference contests and just three second half corner kicks.
