ASHLEY RIVERA OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TX), a junior from Garland, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets conducted from Friday, September 19 through Saturday, September 20. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 4)
Rivera led the way for the Tornados at the Schreiner/Mountaineer Hill Country Invite with a top 15 finish. She crossed the line of the 6K course in a new PR time of 26:13.1 to post the top SCAC finish at the meet. Her efforts helped Concordia secure a fifth place overall team finish.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Teresa Cashen of Dallas posted a new personal best time last Saturday at the Mountaineer Hill Country Invite to lead the Crusaders. Cashen crossed the line of the 6K course in 26:33.0 to finish 18th. Senior Chloe Weathers of University of the Ozarks was the Eagles' top runner at the 5k Rhodes College Invitational on Saturday. Competing against NCAA I, NCAA II, and NCAA III runners from across the Mid-South, Weathers posted a time of 20:12.05 for 34th place. Her efforts helped Ozarks secured a seventh-place team finish.
