Johnson & Wales' Herman Named to Team of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Johnson & Wales (Denver) senior guard Jontrell Herman was named to the Team of the Week for the week of November 18th, it was announced by

Herman led the JWU to a pair of non-conference victories last week to get the Wildcats off to their first 2-0 start since the 2004-2005 season. The Mississippi native averaged 32.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists to lead Johnson & Wales to wins over Wisconsin-River Falls and Iowa Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday at the Tiger Tip-Off Tournament at Colorado College. A product of Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colo., Herman knocked down 7-of-12 attempts from the 3-point line (58.3 percent) in the two games while shooting 55.0 percent from the floor.

Herman opened the season by matching a career high with 34 points in an 85-81 win over UWRF on Friday, following that up with a 31-point effort the next day in a 95-73 win over Iowa Wesleyan.

Herman is the first SCAC men's student-athlete to earn National TOTW recognition since Centenary's Travion Kirkendoll was recognized in Week 9 of the 2017-18 season.
