HARLIE GALLASPY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior setter from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, October 14th through Saturday, October 18th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 8)
Gallaspy posted 23 assists in a sweep of Concordia (Tex.) to average 7.67 assists per set, helping the Mountaineers to a .324 team hitting percentage. She also added 12 digs, one kill and one ace in the match. This marks her second Setter of the Week award this season.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore setter Camden Goodman of Colorado College tied her career-high posting 49 assists in a five-set loss to St. Thomas (Tex.) on the road. Goodman averaged 9.80 assists per set while adding 17 digs and a pair of kills as the Tigers hit .185 against the Celts. Senior setter Adilynn Henry of Hendrix totaled 40 assists over a pair of matches for the Warriors in a 2-0 weekend. Her weekend high of 22 came in a 3-1 win over LeTourneau as she averaged 5.71 assists per set over seven sets. Freshman setter Emily Mullin of LeTourneau tallied 37 assists over a 1-1 weekend for the YellowJackets with a high of 24 in a sweep of Ozarks (Ark.). She averaged 5.29 assists per set over the weekend and helped LeTourneau to 50 kills against Ozarks (Ark.), setting a program record for a three-set match. Junior setter Alexis Dolton of McMurry contributed 60 assists for the War Hawks, averaging 8.57 assists per set over seven sets. Dolton added 35 assists in a 3-1 loss to Concordia (Tex.) and added 16 digs over two matches. Sophomore setter Jillian Childs of Ozarks (Ark.) totaled 24 assists including a season-high 17 in a win over Centenary. She also added 13 digs and a pair of kills over two matches. Senior setter Mia Medina of St. Thomas (Tex.) totaled 24 assists in a five-set win over Colorado College while adding 11 digs. She averaged 4.80 assists per set over the five sets played. First-year setter Addison Gallegos of Texas Lutheran posted 12 assists in a sweep of McMurry to average 4.00 assists per set. She added eight digs and one kill against the War Hawks.
