Ibarra, a first-year from Woodlands, Texas, and Jamison, a first-year from Denton, Texas, were 2-0 in league play for the Mountaineers with wins again Dallas and Austin College. Ibarra and Jamison won 6-1 at No. 2 against both conference foes.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Olivia Sanchez and junior Emma Davidson of Austin College had a strong weekend for the 'Roos, getting a win by default on line two against McMurry and then picking up a line one doubles victory at Schreiner, coming out on top 6-2. Sophomores Aspen Young and Lucia Moravek of Colorado College went a perfect 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles spot last weekend as the Tigers won all three team matches. They opened the weekend with a 6-2 victory over Kelsey Smith and Brooke Humphrey of Ozarks, then defeated Devyn Rodriguez and Jade Brilhante, 6-3, in a 4-3 team win over Division II Colorado Mesa. The duo closed the weekend with a 6-0 triumph over Caroline Lasley and Josie Laffingwell of Hendrix as the Tigers improved to 6-0 in the SCAC this season. Junior Emily Pullen and sophomore Valerie Sanchez of Concordia (Tex.) posted a perfect 2-0 record at No. 2 doubles, leading the Tornados to a pair of conference wins. The duo opened the weekend with a commanding 6-0 victory over St. Thomas (Tex.) and followed with a 6-2 win against LeTourneau. Their consistent and dominant play provided early momentum for the Tornados in both matches. Sophomore Chloe Tesser and senior Kylie Weeks of LeTourneau went 1-1 at the No. 1 flight in doubles. The duo defeated Texas Lutheran's Lucero Alvarado and Adison Ortega by a 6-0 final in a LeTourneau victory. They then fell to Concordia's Johanna Winkler and Aria Moreni, 6-4. The tandem moved to 8-2 on the year and 5-1 in SCAC matches. First-year Mariel Herrera and senior Lucia Rodriguez of St. Thomas (Tex.) set the tone in doubles play across two matches, delivering dominant performances for the Celts. Against Concordia (Tex.), the duo controlled the court in a 6-1 victory, and they followed it up with a flawless 6-0 win over TLU.
