KOURTNEY HURRY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior first baseman on the softball team from Waller, Texas, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Character and Community Female Athlete of the Week for the week beginning March 10.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
Kourtney is involved in numerous organizations on campus. In addition to being a member of the women's softball team, she also serves as an intramural referee, is a member of the Schreiner Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and does clinicals at the local hospital in town.
In her various roles on campus, she excels at helping students build lasting friendships and feel a sense of belonging, ensuring they transition smoothly into college life. She also actively encourages them to get involved in the campus community and find meaningful connections both on and off campus.
After graduation, Kourtney plans to use her nursing degree to become a registered nurse.
