LAUREN TROTT OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior pitcher from Aubrey, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 20 through Sunday, April 26. SCAC Softball Release - Week 12
Trott made the final game of her career a memorable one, tossing just the second no-hitter in program history and the first seven-inning no-hitter for the 'Roos. Trott earned a 2-0 win against Hendrix to help sweep the series, striking out two batters with a 0.29 WHIP. She also helped herself at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, and an RBI.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year pitcher Brooke Bubert of LeTourneau went 1-0 with a 3.23 ERA across 13 innings in a series win over Schreiner. She notched a complete-game win in game two allowing just two runs with five strikeouts in an 8-2 victory. Bubert came on in relief in game three and tossed six innings. Junior Bailee Cowell of Ozarks won three straight games in the circle to help the Eagles secure their second post-season appearance in program history while giving the Eagles their most wins in program history (21). Cowell threw three complete games to sweep Centenary College and totaled 10 strikeouts while issuing just two walks. Cowell worked quickly during her 21-inning weekend as each game was under one hour and 20 minutes. Cowell also became the program's single season win leader with 15. Cowell helped her own cause as she collected four hits and drove in two runs during the series. Sophomore Jordyn Joy of Texas Lutheran tossed a complete game shutout only allowing three baserunners in the Bulldogs 8-0 win over Dallas. Joy allowed just one walk and struck out one in helping TLU secure the top seed going into this weekend’s SCAC Tournament.
