MADISIN HARTSFIELD OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a first-year middle blocker from Sherman, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, November 4th through Sunday, November 9th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 11)
Hartsfield totaled 20 total blocks for an average of 2.0 blocks per set, including 11 blocks in conference matches for an average of 1.57 per set. She had a high of nine total blocks against No. 2-ranked ETBU and followed that up with eight total blocks, including three solos, in a five-set win over division-leading Hendrix to close out the regular season.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Junior libero Meghan Gannon of Colorado College led the Tigers with 35 digs in a pair of five-set wins. Gannon also added 10 assists over the pair of victories. Sophomore middle blocker Ashlyn Walther of LeTourneau was a force at the net for the YellowJackets with 10 blocks including five in conference action. Walther also contributed six digs and six kills over the weekend. Sophomore libero Jalie Miller of McMurry compiled 51 digs over a pair of matches with 34 in a loss to Schreiner. Miller averaged 6.38 digs per set while recording seven assists and three service aces. First-year defensive specialist Lauralai Bradley of Ozarks (Ark.) totaled 28 digs for the Eagles over three matches with her best of the week coming against Austin recording 17 digs. Senior libero Richelle Guerra of Texas Lutheran posted 46 digs over a pair of league contests with 29 in a four-set loss to St. Thomas (Tex.). Guerra averaged 5.11 digs per set and added 12 assists.
