LOLA BARCUS-SCHAFER OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets Saturday, December 13. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 9)
Barcus-Schafer had some great performances and left her mark at her home pool in her final home meet as a senior. She was able to sweep all of her events against St. Thomas (Tex.) winning the 50 breast, the 100 breast, and the 100 IM. Barcus-Schafer also contributed to the winning 400 Medley Relay and helped the 'Roos to the team win.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kelsy Elgar of St. Thomas (Tex.) delivered a strong all-around weekend, highlighted by quality swims in the 50 free and 100 IM. She also provided key relay legs, consistently stepping up even while fatigued and racing with purpose for the team.
