BRUCE MAXWELL OF BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN COLLEGE, a 6-2, 225-pound first-year infielder from Toney, Ala., has been named the SCAC Offensive Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, February 22 through Sunday, February 28.

During five games, Maxwell batted 9-for-20 at the plate for a.450 batting average while scoring 11 runs, driving in eight, hitting three home runs and notching a double. He was 4-for-5 with four RBI and two home runs against Arcadia on Feb. 27.

For the week, Maxwell posted a .950 slugging percentage as well as a .577 on-base percentage to tally 1.527 OPS (on-base plus slugging).
