SCAC Announces 2015 Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its seventh annual spring All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 49 student-athletes were selected to the 2015 squad in the sports of baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s track & field.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After three days of competition, the Schreiner Mountaineers moved up a spot into a tie for ninth place as they prepare for the final round at the NCAA Championship.
TLU's Peterson Leads SCAC Players Through First Round of NCAA Men's Golf Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Schreiner University and Southwestern University, along with Texas Lutheran University senior Adam Peterson, kicked off the 2015 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Tuesday morning.
After the first round, Schreiner is in 13th place, posting a score of 298 (+10) through the East Course. Southwestern is just five strokes behind the Mountaineers, tied for 19th place after posting a score of 303 (+15). Both teams will compete on the West Course Wednesday in the second round.
Adam Peterson led all SCAC players in the event, firing off a 71 (-1) through the West Course to finish the day in a tie for 10th place overall. Jimmy Keener shot an even-par 72 to tie for 15th on the first day and lead Schreiner’s group. Tyler Gammill led the Pirates in a tie for 47th place with a 74 (+2).
Leading the team competition is Methodist University with a 284 (-4) on the West Course. The individual race is led by Kelby Scharmann of the University of La Verne with a 66 (-6) on day one.
Of the twelve teams ahead of Schreiner, eight of them competed on the West Course and only four competed on the East. The average score on the East Course is 78.48, while the West Course average is 76.58. The West Course is lower in yardage as well, only 6710 compared to 7200 on the East.
The Mountaineers will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, beginning with the 10th hole. Southwestern will follow at 8:20 a.m. Peterson will get a later start, teeing off from the first hole at 12:45 p.m.
