LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) sent 21 athletes to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin, highlighted by three individual top eight finishes and 10 total All-American performances.
On the women’s side five individuals grabbed All-American honors, including two securing First Team All-American honors, highlighted by Colorado College senior Alison Mueller-Hickler’s seventh-place finish in the 10,000-meters. Mueller-Hickler [Pictured; Right] placed seventh with a career best and program record time of 34:49.88. The Katy, Texas native earned Second Team All-American last year in the 10k, finishing 10th, and is just the second First Team AA in the 10k in SCAC history, joining former Tiger Katie Sandfort who earned the accomplishment in 2017.
McMurry senior Kendra Humphries secured All-American honors in the shot put with a toss of 13.57m to finish eighth. Humphries is the female in SCAC history to earn First Team All-American honors in the shot put. She also competed in the javelin throw on the national stage, finishing 19th with a mark of 39.94m.
Additionally, three women earned Second Team All-American honors after placing top 16 individually, highlighted by Colorado College senior Allison Barker’s 11th-place finish in the 1,500-meters. Barker, who set a program record time in prelims (4:26.77), took home 11th in Saturday’s final heat with a time of 4:28.26. Barker is the seventh different SCAC athlete to earn All-American honors in the 1,500-meters and the second CC Tiger to accomplish the feat in the program’s SCAC era, joining Isabel Olson who accomplished the feat last year in 2025.
Joining Barker as a Second Team All-American were McMurry teammates, junior Brenna Stell and senior Tori Colman. Stell finished tied for 14th in the pole vault, clearing 3.75m to post a top-15 performance. Stell is the first female athlete in league history to earn AA honors in the pole vault. Colman secured 16th in the discus with a toss of 41.73m. Colman’s performance was just the second SCAC female athlete to earn AA honors in the discus and the first since 1982 when Kelley Jones of former conference member Illinois College secured the accolade.
For the men, four individuals and two relays earned All-American honors, highlighted by Texas Lutheran’s Amir McClain [Pictured; Left] who claimed First Team honors with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump. McClain captured a top-5 finish with a leap of 15.08m, hit on his fourth attempt of the afternoon. McClain is the fifth male athlete in SCAC history to earn AA honors in the triple jump and just the second since 2018.
TLU’s Braylen Brown turned in the league’s next best individual finish on the men’s side, earning Second Team All-American honors in the 400-meters, finishing 13th, crossing the line in 47.55. Brown finished 16th in the event last year as a first year and is just the second athlete in league history to earn multiple AA honors in the 400-meters, joining former TLU standout Marquis Brown who accomplished the feat in 2017 and 2018. Brown’s teammate, Parker Cabra earned Second Team All-American honors in the high jump, finishing 15th after clearing 2.03m. Cabra is the fifth athlete in league history to secure AA honors in the high jump and the first since 2024.
Rounding out the individual All-Americans on the men’s side is Colorado College sophomore Oliver Smeal. Smeal finished 16th in the javelin throw with a mark of 58.49. Smeal is the fourth SCAC athlete in conference history to earn AA honors in the javelin and first since 2009. Smeal is just the second athlete in CC history to become and AA in the javelin, joining Marshall Grissith (1969).
The TLU 4x100 and 4x400 relay squads also earned Second Team All-American honors to highlight the SCAC performances at the NCAA Div. III National Championships. The 4x100 quartet of senior Rickey Franks, sophomores Eden Perez and Hezekiah McDow and first-year Tavion Parrish finished 10th, crossing the line in 40.79. The 4x400 team of sophomores Braylen Brown, Perez, Gavino Ramirez and Caden Keller stopped the clock in 3:13.45 to capture 14th. The 4x400 squad is the first in SCAC history to earned AA in the event.
In the team standings, the Texas Lutheran men were the highest placing SCAC squad, finishing tied for 46th with four total points. On the women’s side, Colorado College finished tied for 67th with two points, while the McMurry women finished tied for 72nd with one point. Wisconsin-La Crosse captured the men’s team title for the third-straight year with a cumulative score of 106 total points. Wisconsin-La Crosse completed the sweep, winning the women’s title for the third time since 2015 and fifth time in program history with a team score of 56.
