CIARAH GARCIA OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Pleasanton, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 5. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6
Garcia jumped 11.30(37'1") in the Triple Jump at the J.G. Gonzalez Memorial Invitational on Friday. This is a personal best jump and ranks No. 22 in the nation. She also ran a personal best of 25.87 in the 200 and ran on the 4 x 1 relay that finished fifth overall.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Bronwyn Adams of Hendrix posted two top-5 finishes in the women's shot put (12.28m) and the hammer (45.38m) and also finished 9th in the women's discus (41.66m) at the Carl Knight Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
