Brown averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 assists in the Warriors' road weekend sweep of Centenary and LeTourneau. She tallied 20 points and seven assists on 8-of-13 shooting versus the Ladies, then followed that up with 21 points and nine assists against LeTourneau the next night. The freshman also grabbed three offensive boards in each contest. Brown connected on 53.6 percent from the field and also added 2.5 steals per game in leading the Warriors to a pair of key victories.
Senior forward Kyra Stokes of Centenary wrapped up her home career for the Ladies over the weekend against Hendrix and Ozarks, averaging 8.5 PPG and 10.0 rebounds/game with three blocked shots and an assist highlighted by her effort against the Warriors - 10 points and 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Junior guard JuJu Garcia of Colorado College led the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend at home. She scored a career-high 15 points off a career-high five three-pointers on Sunday against Texas Lutheran in a key SCAC win. Garcia finished the weekend averaging 10.5 points, 1.0 assists and 3.5 three pointers per game. Junior guard Mariana Espinosa of LeTourneau averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in an 0-2 week for LeTourneau. She had 14 points with six rebounds and three assists in a loss to Ozarks before totaling 16 points, six rebounds, and one assist in a loss to Hendrix. Senior guard Helana Chadwick of McMurry led the War Hawks to a 2-0 week, averaging 17.0 points per game on 33.3 percent shooting and added 4.5 assists per night. She also added 3.0 steals and 3.5 rebounds per contest. Senior center Elli Garcia of Ozarks averaged 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 68 percent from the field to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 record and a playoff berth. She had a 15-point, 8-rebound performance against LeTourneau while missing just two shots from the field. She followed that with an 11-point and 3-block effort against Centenary. Garcia's play has given the Eagles a five-game win streak. First-year guard Yasmine Aly of St. Thomas helped lift the Celts to a pair of key SCAC wins, averaging 8.5 points per game, including 15 in a big win over TLU on Friday night. Additionally, she grabbed 2.5 rebounds and accounted for 1.0 steals per game. Junior guard Davi’Yanna Jones of Texas Lutheran poured in 19.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting to lead the Bulldogs on the road at St. Thomas and Colorado College last weekend. She also grabbed 3.0 rebounds and swiped 1.5 steals per contest on the road trip.
