ARMANDO ROCHA OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TEX.), a sophomore from Jersey Village, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Tuesday, March 31 through Sunday, April 5. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 9

Rocha delivered a dominant outing on the mound for the Celts, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits. He struck out 10 and walked only two, finishing with a 0.00 ERA, a .57 WHIP, and holding opponents to a .083 batting average. The 10 strikeouts for the sophomore mark a career-best total and he currently leads the league with 55 this season. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Blake Skipworth of Austin College was lights-out in the final home start of his career, earning a complete game victory in a big win over McMurry. Skipworth didn't allow an earned run, scattering eight hits with three strikeouts and one walked for a WHIP of 1.00 in the victory, his career-best third of the season. Sophomore Treyson Martin of Centenary had a big weekend for the Diamond Gents in their series win at TLU as he earned a victory and a save on the same day as the Maroon and White swept the nationally-ranked and conference-leading Bulldogs in a DH on Friday. Martin recorded a save, the first of the season and third of his career, in a 5-4 win in game one of the DH as he got the final two outs of the game. He then came on in relief in game two and worked a career-high 7.2 IP and allowed just one earned run and six hits with one BB and one K. Senior Braxton Waller of Hendrix helped secure a weekend sweep for the Warriors over the University of Dallas by recording three saves out of the bullpen to take him up to 10 on the year. The senior threw 3.2 innings total and punched out 7 hitters while allowing just 1 run on 3 hits combined across those outings. Sophomore Blake Goodridge of LeTourneau threw seven strong innings and allowed just two runs in a 6-5 win over St. Thomas (Tex.). The sophomore scattered five hits and struck out four in his seven innings. He also retired the first six hitters he faced. Senior Hunter Poe of McMurry earned the start against Austin College going for seven innings with five strikeouts and a pair of earned runs. Poe allowed just five hits and one walk. Senior Logan Sifuentes of Schreiner earned a pair of saves for the Mountaineers against Ozarks (Ark.) pitching a total of 2.1 shutout innings across a doubleheader allowing just one hit and striking out a pair. Sifuentes walked one and now has five saves this season.
