CHLOE WEATHERS OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS (ARK.), a senior from Clarksville, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets conducted from Thursday, October 9 through Saturday, October 11. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 7)
Weathers placed second overall at the 5k U of O Invitational on Saturday in Clarksville. Weathers helped the Eagles capture the team title running a 18:43.20. She has finished as the top Eagle runner in each of Ozarks' three races this season and this marks her second Runner of the Week award of the season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Sadie Honig of Colorado College led the Tigers with a 30th-place finish at the UCCS Open Friday morning at North Monument Valley Park. Honig completed the 6K course in a time 23:44.3. First-year Lilana Lutz of Concordia (TX) led the Tornados at the DBU Old Glory Gallup, besting her PR time by seconds, crossing the link of the 5K course in 21:13.75. She was one of five Concordia runners to post PRs at the event. Sophomore McKenna Emerson of Schreiner posted a 5K PR to lead the way for the Mountaineers at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. Emerson crossed the line in a time of 20:41.6. Senior Alejandra Ramon of St. Thomas impressed with a school-record performance to lead the way for the Celts at the DBU Old Glory Gallup. Ramon broke her own program record, crossing the line of the 5K course in 19:11.5, to finish 79th out of 341 competitors across all divisions.
