BELLE ASBURY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Friday, April 10 through Tuesday, April 14. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 7)
Asbury fired back-to-back rounds of 83 (+11) to finish runner-up with a two-round total of 166 (+22) at the Salisbury University Sea Gull Women’s Invite to lead the Bulldogs to a second-place team finish. She finished the week, best in the field in par 3 scoring (3.25), tied for second in par 4 scoring (4.85) and fourth in par 5 scoring (5.38). For the week, Asbury posted 18 pars, the most in the entire field of 23 student-athletes.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Jennifer Converse of Dallas fired rounds of 89 (+17) and 86 (+14) to finished tied for 23 to lead the Crusaders at the West Region Invite. Converse finished tied for fourth in the field with four birdies on the week. Senior Amber Alsup of Hendrix was the top finisher for the Warriors at the Lee and Joe Duncan Rhodes Invite. Alsup finished 15th with a 20-over par three round score of 255, highlighted by a second-round score of 81. She finished the week with one birdie and 26 pars.
