AMIR MCCLAIN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Converse, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 5. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6
McClain won the Triple Jump and finished second in the Long Jump at the J.G. Gonzales Memorial Invitational meet held by Trinity University on Friday. His mark of 14.91 in the Triple Jump is No. 2 in the nation and his mark of 7.10 in the Long Jump is No. 13 in the nation. This marks his second-straight weekly award.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Aaron Willeford of LeTourneau won the javelin event with a program-record distance of 60.95 meters (200'0) at the Carl Kight Invitational. The mark put him 14th in the nation and the fifth-best in the West Region.
