PARKER CABRA OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Schertz, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athletes of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7
Cabra finished third in the 110 hurdles at the Warhawk Classic, hosted by McMurry University. His time of 14.51 is a new school record and a personal best time. This time puts him No. 24 on the national list.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Malcolm Pierce of Centenary had an impressive weekend for the Gents in the Stallion Transportation Bryan Phillips Open on Saturday in Searcy, Ark. He had a PR in the 200 meters with a time of 22.7 and another PR in the 400 meters (51.02). Pierce was also a member of the Gents' 4 x 400 relay team that ran a school record time of 3:23.68. Sophomore Vincent Mangat of Colorado College finished third in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Kit Mayer Classic with a season-best time of 9:41.91, the best time in the SCAC this spring and the 25th-fastest time in Division III when adjusted for altitude The LeTourneau 4x100 team of Abdiel Rincon, Xander Nabors, Ryker Gorrell, and Jean-Michel Ndiaye set a program record with their time of 41.80 and placed seventh overall in the event at the War Hawk Classic. First-year Peyton Jones of Ozarks (Ark.) had a pair of top-8 finishes at the University of Oklahoma John Jacobs Invitational on Friday. In the 1500-meters, Jones ran a 4:03.44 to place fifth overall. In the 800-meters, Jones paced the Eagles with a time of 1:57.86 for eighth place. He was the top NCAA III runner in each event.
