DESERAE CHARLES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a first-year from Natchitoches, La., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, April 14. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7
Charles was the event champion in the shot put at the Warhawk Classic on Saturday, putting out a throw of 12.31 meters (40' 4 3/4") which currently leads the SCAC.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Erin Capell of Colorado College posted a 14th-place finish in the discus at the KT Woodman Classic with a personal-best throw of 122' 7", which places her second in the SCAC this season. She also finished 17th in the shot put (35' 8 1/4").
