Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year midfielder Ava Puente of Hendrix lifted the Warriors to a road SCAC win last Friday against Concordia. Puente scored her first career goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, and then assisted on the third goal on the match in a 3-0 win over the Tornados. Sophomore forward Laila Brown of McMurry led the War Hawks to a pair of SCAC victories last weekend, scoring a goal in both wins, knocking off Austin College at home, 4-0, on Friday and 3-1 over LeTourneau on the road on Sunday. Brown’s goal against Austin College proved to be the game-winner and finished the weekend with two goals and four total points. First-year midfielder Addison Featherstone of Ozarks scored both goals for the Eagles last week, including converting on a penalty kick in a 1-1 draw against Concordia on Sunday. Featherstone currently leads Ozarks with four goals on the season. Senior midfielder Emma Cerda of St. Thomas has been key in the Celts getting out to a 2-0-1 start in SCAC play, its best start in program history. Cerda played the full 90 minutes and dished out an assist is St. Thomas’ 2-0 win over Dallas at home last Friday. Cerda is now second in the SCAC with seven assists on the season.
