ERIN RILEY OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a
senior guard/forward from Battle Creek, Mich., has been selected as
the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games
played from Monday, February 3rd through Sunday, February
9th.
Riley led Austin College to a 2-1 weekend
including an upset of the top team in the conference, Trinity
University.
Riley averaged 15.6 points/game and 6.0
rebounds/game to lead the team in both games, hitting 67% from the
field and a blistering 75% from behind the arch.
Riley the week off with 17 points on Tuesday
night against Centenary on 6-of-10 shooting and 4-of-6 shooting
from three to go with nine boards.
Against Southwestern, Riley led the team
with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, hitting 4-of-6 from three, and
pulling down six boards. Riley followed
that up with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting incluidng a perfect
4-for-4 from behind the arch in the win over Trinity.
It is the first time the ‘Roos have swept Trinity
women’s basketball since the 2009-10 season.
