HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams went blow for blow early as Concordia scratched a pair of runs in the top of the first before Trinity took the lead 3-2 lead going into the second in part due to a pair of RBI doubles off the bats of Carsyn Lee and Mariana Garcia.
- Concordia responded in the top of the second when Kylie Kirk blasted a three run home run. It was her sixth home run of the season and brought her RBI total to 37 on the year.
- The Tigers however showed resilience, posting a six spot in the home half of the second as Hannah Boudreaux opened the scoring with an RBI single and Hayden Del Toro closed the scoring in the inning with a two RBI single.
- Trinity limited Concordia to just three hits after the second until the sixth when Kirk ripped a double to cut the Tiger lead to 9-6 but once again Trinity answered in the bottom half of the inning scoring three more runs, highlighted by a two RBI single from Peyton Bowser.
- Trinity’s Megan Kriechbaum was outstanding in relief, going five full innings, scattering just four hits, allowing one run and striking out eight.
