ANNIE ROSE LEGGETT OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from Austin, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 18 through Sunday, October 24. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 8)

Leggett had a career weekend in Kerrville in the latest round of conference matches for Trinity. In the third-ranked Tigers' seventh victory over a nationally-ranked team this season, she set a new career-high with 28 digs in the 3-1 win over No. 7 Colorado College. Leggett averaged an impressive 6.50 digs per set (78 digs total) in another undefeated SCAC weekend for Trinity which moved her up to sixth in program history with 1,645 career digs, 55 of which came in Saturday's two wins.

Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle hitter Georgia Mullins of Colorado College displayed her versatility by averaging 1.27 blocks and tying for the team lead at 4.45 digs per set, all while leading the Tigers averaging 4.64 kills per set during three crossover matches last week in Kerrville. Mullins recorded double-doubles against both nationally-ranked opponents, giving her four double-doubles in the last six games. She has 16 kills and 19 digs in the four-set loss to Trinity, and 18 kills and a career-high 21 digs in the four-set win over No. 16 Southwestern. With 13 block assists during the three matches, Mullins climbed three spots to eighth on the program's career list with 241, and with 14 total blocks, she moved up two positions to 14th with 285. Senior defensive specialist/libero Ali Grona of Southwestern averaged 7.38 digs per set over the weekend, including a career-high 43-dig effort in a four-set win over Texas Lutheran. Senior right side Madison Weisinger of Texas Lutheran was a blocking machine last week for the Bulldogs with 22 total blocks over five matches, averaging 1.29 per set. She had 10 blocks in the team's 3-1 win over St. Thomas to wrap up the weekend. Junior outside hitter/right side Brooke Byer of Schreiner finished the weekend with 94 digs, averaging 6.71 per set to pace the Mountaineers. Junior middle blocker Paige Havel of St. Thomas posted 37 total blocks on the weekend and broke her own program record for most solo blocks in a match with 11 in the Celts' weekend-opener against No. 16 Southwestern. Senior middle hitter Dayjah Whyte of Dallas excelled on both sides of the ball, averaging .86 blocks per set, tallying six total blocks on the week, as well as six digs.
