ANNIE BOURNE
OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward
from Dallas, Texas has been named SCAC Women’s Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 28 through
Sunday, February 3.
Bourne was outstanding offensively this week as
Southwestern earned wins over Centenary and Austin College.
Bourne averaged 18.5 points per game while
shooting 76 percent from the field (16-21) and 66 percent from
three point range (4-6). Bourne was also just one rebound shy of
averaging a double-double with 9.5 rebounds per game.
Against Centenary on Friday, Bourne scored 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting and added 10 rebounds. She followed that up with 22 points (10 of 12 shooting) and nine rebounds in Southwestern’s win over Austin College on Saturday.
