DIONECIA WARR
OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore guard/forward
from San Antonio, Texas, has been named SCAC Women’s
Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 10
through Sunday, December 16.
Warr guided the Ladies to the program’s
first-ever SCAC win this past weekend against the University of
Dallas.
Warr scored 23 points on 9 of 20 (45 percent)
shooting in the Ladies’ 65-64 overtime win at Dallas. She
also added eight rebounds, six steals and a block in the win.
Trailing 58-57 with five seconds left in regulation,
Warr registered one of her six steals and was
fouled with one second remaining. She hit one of two shots at the
line to force overtime where Centenary won by one point.
